Catching up on fannish stuff I haven't posted here, I did a voice post reading for part of LotR, Book 2, Chapter 2 here for
read_lotr_aloud, with a link to readings of the entire chapter included in the second part.
Inspired by the lovely
lbilover's Matching Pair pics and challenge here, I wrote a very oppressive RPS ficlet here, which I've reposted under the cut:
Title: Shatter
Author:
lavendertook
Pairing: S/E
Genre: AU HEA Fluffy romance ficlet
Having driven back from the airport, holding the letter that explained everything, Lij ran heedlessly up the porch stairs, but no one was there. He peered into the window where he thought Sean meant he would meet him.
The house was dark and so very still. He searched the dark silence the glass enclosed, the growing doubt and desolation threatening to fill his lungs quicker than he could draw breath. Suddenly, he saw a movement, a fleeting shadow, and gazed desperately where the light led: to a window on the other side of the old forsaken house.
And there was Sean on the other side of the pane, pressing into the glass, shattering the barriers between them with silent need. The enclosed space could masquerade as home no longer, that name belonging to one standing beyond its walls, and its powers to divide them crumbled into dust as their eyes locked, the key cast into the fire and lost.
Where exactly between the back yard and front porch they met, neither could say, as all will to record spacial detail was lost in the press of burning skin and heated tears, searing grass stains and dirt unheeded. And so they made the world anew, all paths theirs to roam, and every star the lamp beside the bed they shared, every hill the pillow they warmed together, safe beneath the down coverlet of each other's embrace.

Then the wonderful
belleferret wrote a prequel to my ficlet here and yay for collaboration!
Of the latest meta discussion on slash and women writing it, my favorite posts were here, here, here, and here.
OK, that catches things up a little. Damn, I'm missing doing picfics--soon.
