First I want to thank dear
belleferret for the cute card and lovely Sean postcard. Yeah, it didn't get here until today, almost 2 weeks after you sent it--boy those sled ferrets were tired--pulling that mail cart all the way from Ohio!!! I'm glad though, because it was lovely to get it now unexpected. *squooshes you*
Here are my garage sister strays when I visited them on Christmas Eve:

You can see the family resemblance. Though I'm wondering if they are possibly mother and daughter, because Ostra (the short-haired calico) has a way of gamboling around Bridget and mewing to her that seems distinctly kitten-like. But that could be how their sisterly relationship works, too. And maybe in this weather, anyone would be deferring to the one who has the nice big thick coat to snuggle up with. I don't know if they're using the shelter yet, but I do know now that they retreat to the sewer to hang out because I saw cat-sized tracks coming out of the sewer in the snow the other week. At least it's good shelter from the wind chill down there and they're good and fat, but it's not an easy life in this season.
Thursday I take Saki to the vet to check her thyroid levels, which I assume won't be good because she's lost another pound in the last couple of months. I'd like to put off her treatments until March when the world starts greening--it's harder to recover from things in the cold, but we'll see if the vet thinks waiting is wise or not. Spirit-wise, she's doing fine and is still acting like a silly, chatty 11 year old kitten and is Tuxie's beloved, though he is not always her beloved, which is his own damn fault for continually sneaking up and smacking her with the same force he did when he was the adorable little kitten she fell for, but is now bigger and stronger than she is. But they still sleep side by side most of the day, and she grooms him, so he's good company for her overall, her own pet kitty.
Moo jumped up and sat on the couch next to me a little while this evening--that is a first for her. Perhaps within the year she'll be wild and crazy and allow herself to sit on the futon sofa and even the bed as well, and end her self-imposed restricted territory, a space restriction neither Saki nor Tuxie share. Kitty OCD is stronger with Ms. Moo than the other two.
