First I want to thank dear
belleferret for the cute card and lovely Sean postcard. Yeah, it didn't get here until today, almost 2 weeks after you sent it--boy those sled ferrets were tired--pulling that mail cart all the way from Ohio!!! I'm glad though, because it was lovely to get it now unexpected. *squooshes you*
Here are my garage sister strays when I visited them on Christmas Eve:

You can see the family resemblance. Though I'm wondering if they are possibly mother and daughter, because Ostra (the short-haired calico) has a way of gamboling around Bridget and mewing to her that seems distinctly kitten-like. But that could be how their sisterly relationship works, too. And maybe in this weather, anyone would be deferring to the one who has the nice big thick coat to snuggle up with. I don't know if they're using the shelter yet, but I do know now that they retreat to the sewer to hang out because I saw cat-sized tracks coming out of the sewer in the snow the other week. At least it's good shelter from the wind chill down there and they're good and fat, but it's not an easy life in this season.
Thursday I take Saki to the vet to check her thyroid levels, which I assume won't be good because she's lost another pound in the last couple of months. I'd like to put off her treatments until March when the world starts greening--it's harder to recover from things in the cold, but we'll see if the vet thinks waiting is wise or not. Spirit-wise, she's doing fine and is still acting like a silly, chatty 11 year old kitten and is Tuxie's beloved, though he is not always her beloved, which is his own damn fault for continually sneaking up and smacking her with the same force he did when he was the adorable little kitten she fell for, but is now bigger and stronger than she is. But they still sleep side by side most of the day, and she grooms him, so he's good company for her overall, her own pet kitty.
Moo jumped up and sat on the couch next to me a little while this evening--that is a first for her. Perhaps within the year she'll be wild and crazy and allow herself to sit on the futon sofa and even the bed as well, and end her self-imposed restricted territory, a space restriction neither Saki nor Tuxie share. Kitty OCD is stronger with Ms. Moo than the other two.

I'm glad the sisters are doing well, and hope Saki's vet visit goes well.
*squooshes for you and pets for the kitties*

Thank you, but I think things will have to get worse with the radiation treatments before better.

They really are beautiful girls. I didn't see them last night, but they turned up this morning so I could feed them, which made the morning nicer.

As for your kitties, I hope Saki's treatments can wait, as you wish. The description of the relationship between her and Tuxie cracked me up. I could just picture them, having brought kittens in to befriend adult cats a few times now. Those whippersnappers - they're a blessing and a curse to older cats, but much more blessing than curse, I think (or so it has been with our cats).

I do think Tuxie is worth Saki's trouble from how much they sit next to each other--she's such an extroverted cat. I managed to get some pics of her grooming him I'll have to put up.
Pilling Saki is going great, so we can definitley wait until summer, and have time to see if there are any underlying conditions before considering the radioactive iodine treatment now. I wrap the pill in cheese spread and Saki is quite enjoying her new treat, so quite a relief for me.

Kitty OCD is something that one of our cats has, too. *sighs* I wish there was a way to make her life happier.
And awwww for the relationship update on Saki and Tuxie. :DDDD
*hugs and purrs*
