really? The Real World Avalon is a setting in a series of novels? How interesting!

To my knowledge, ducks are not a mascot of LAR's....i just ran with the "Duckonath" theme in your pics.......

I'm on the last novel of her "Company" series now. They're a terrific send-up of corporate culture and greed, complete with time travel and people made immortal through cyborg technology and programmed to be model employees, as well as a love letter to Shakespearean England (she taught re-enactors how to speak Elizabethan English for a living) and parts of the California coastline and its history. Wonderful characters and wicked fun. Baker lived in Pismo Beach, and died too early of ovarian cancer a couple of years ago.
