I gotses a letter yesterday from the grad school sayin' advancement to PhD candidacy is a go. Wheeeeeee!!!!!! And thus The Summer of a Thousand Little Hurdles comes to a close on a happy note. So yes, I do get to go on and write a dissertation on my icon lady there, and second chances do exist. (-:

And my mouth is healing. And Milli did not disappear during the violent thunderstorm the other day when I found the door blown open but no Milli-cat to be found anywhere---eeeek! And I'm a good twenty pounds lighter than last year.

And my LJ friends so rock. I wouldn't have pulled through to this point without you. Truly.

OK, so research and writing, job hunting, nest arranging, walks, and play time continue as planned. Things are pretty good.(-:

Oh so nice to read some good positive news this morning. It sounds like the constellations are aligning in your favour. Congratulations!
(Oh, and a hint for the clueless and uncultured... who is that lady?)

Maybe they are, finally. Thank you!(-:

Nah, you're not uncultured or clueless at all not to know her--she got kind of shoved out of the literary canon the last couple hundred years and has only recently been making a comeback. That's Margaret Cavendish, Duchess of Newcastle who lived and wrote during the 17thC. She wrote wonderful wild stuff filled with interesting women heroes and published theories on science and philosophy as well as plays, stories, and poems. She dearly wanted to be famous, so writing about her is a satisfyingly codependent endeavour. (-;
