Ideas are finally percolating for my paper--whoo!! Been slogging through this awful jargon of postcolonial theory trying to find something that I can work with and I'm getting somewhere finally! That it's connecting to my thoughts about the current political situation, Iraq, and my frustrations with the left, and not just the film I'm working with--Deepa Mehta's Fire--makes me feel like I may actually have something useful to say.

I'm frustrated with friends I talked to the other day who had given me such a hard time about voting for Nader now going all apocalyptic on corporate takeover. And where was all the mobilization of the left a couple of years ago before the election and then right after it to defend the black vote in Florida, back when I was marching, when something could have actually been done? (I feel like Cara's Gaffer: "Told ee so, Sam." ehehe! Oy!) But its all feeding into my thinking about the paper now, so getting closer. (-:

Trying to keep the feelings of despair this awful weather brings at bay that interferes with my focus, so its slow slogging. I hate the snow now. I used to love snow up through last year--I must have been adultified this year.)-:

Thank you to Tom for the hugs and love you sent. Backatcha! (-:

I will be back to posting entries in MESPT when this paper is done, hopefully, hopefully before the week ends--I promise. Will answer posts as I can and play when I just can't take it anymore.(-;
