Edit: When I went to bed last night the radio was reporting 12 miners alive and posted joyfully here. Apparently their loved ones had the same news before they learned it was false. Love to all their kith and kin in bearing the pain.

And now they're saying the "survivor" may not make it.

There's a special circle of hell for the company flacks who didn't tell the families for three hours that the good news was bogus.

Do we know that they deliberately held the info yet--any info on that?

It's universally reported. Their excuse is that they didn't know for sure how many were dead or which one was alive; but they damned well knew it wasn't twelve alive!
