I know this is a return to the denial and bargaining phase of grief, but a bunch of sites are picking up this story now, and whether or not it is a hoax, making the phone call is worth a shot. The count is so close in these states, and they haven't finished Michigan's count yet. Right now at 11pm ET the 202 number is busy, but you can get right through to the 1-800 number--I got through immediately--maybe it is easier to connect late in the evening and off hours and read the script below:

Please take one minute and call/email the DOJ -Department of Justice- : 1-800-253-3931 (press 5) or 202-353-1555 (leave message)

email: voting.section@usdoj.gov

"My name is [first last name], I'm calling from [city],[state] to respectfully request you pursue an investigation into voter suppression, Russian collusion and FBI interference with the 2016 presidential election. Please issue an injunction until a thorough investigation can take place."

The point is to provide the DOJ with numbers so they can say X number of Americans want an injunction. Short, sweet, polite does the trick.

Here's an article on the issue.

last night, Snopes was calling this basically a 'ummmmm, maybe not".......but this morning, it is all over the local news. However, (in my local news) with NO details, which I find interesting. It's like they read a headline ("Hillary should challenge election results, says computer scientists") and that's it. Wait, they just provided some details, saying they thought results in some counties that used electronic voting might have been hacked. And then "they found no evidence of hacking"

Ummmmmm.

CNN is picking up the story, too. This is worth fighting for. Please Hillary don't quit on us!!!

Fortunately, Orange looks very nice with Green. Jill Stein, who, as the Green party candidate, also has the power to call for an investigation, is collecting donations right now to do just that, which is awesome.

I read that if you hit 5 instead of 4 and speak to a live operator, they will tally your call. Haven't had a chance to call yet, but I will let you know if that's the case.

ETA: also, I don't consider it denial. We know that Bush stole the election from Gore in 2000. We know that Russia was involved in hacking during this election. All signs point to it being true.

OK, thanks! Do let me know.

Yeah--the Guardian and CNN hadn't picked up the story yet when I posted last night, so I was being cautious about the story.

Trump is doing all he can to keep the press and the whole world watching his spinning ball so we'll time out on the deadlines when investigating this can make a difference--that's Bannon's strategy. And I think Clinton and Obama are afraid that pursuing this could lead to rioting in the streets from both sides and undo peaceful transition, and whether it's worth that risk. That's why Gore didn't do more. I DO think it's worth that risk vs 4 or more years of Trump and the Republicans that stand with him and what they will do to the world. Please Hillary, don't quit on us!

Will do it, told my husband and mother that I think some shenanigans went on with the votes as I didn't think the Clinton folks would be so wrong is 4-5 states. I somehow don't think anything can be done but will call the number. Also the popular votes totals may tell the true story. My fear though is that the Powers-that-be might threaten to prosecute Clinton on some trumped up charge if she makes waves.

That's why it should be the Democratic party that files and not just the Clinton campaign. And yeah, Trump's letting her go, "because she's suffered enough" is actually a Godfather like threat and not faux compassion--a promise to make her suffer more if she pursues this. I hope she will stand up to him even if it won't result in her taking his place. The investigation should still be done. More fodder for the electors. Dec 19th when the electors vote is going to be interesting.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this will lead to something good!

The Green Party candidate Jill Stein is collecting donations so she can call for the recount. I'm so glad she has stepped up to the plate. And I pray Trump doesn't have her assassinated.

You know, any other time and I would have rolled my eyes at the last bit but now? A thing to seriously worry about!
