For the last 20+ years that I've been walking around Greenbelt Lake, more often than not there has been one Great Blue heron about. I think for many years it may have been the same one. A year or so back it wasn't around much, and since then we've had a smaller more rumpled looking one around. Now it's been joined by a Great Egret. A regular I see by the lake said he's seen 3 of the egrets, But so far I've only seen the one.

Great Egret (for some reason this pic isn't showing up on DW--link on the link to LJ below to see it)

And here's the Great Blue Heron.

And here is the egret and blue heron hunting in tandem.

Friday I went to see the endocrinologist about the thyroid ultrasound I had at the beginning of the month. My thyroid nodules have not grown at all--still just under biopsy size--which is very good news. Now I don't have to go back for another ultrasound and review for 2 years, and can ignore my thyroid all of next year--this is very happy making news! I took off the morning for an IHOP breakfast and did some shopping before teleworking in the afternoon. It was a good day. But today I'm back to the usual anxiety--lololol. Tuesday I go for my mammogram. I'm taking off the whole day for that. Maybe I'll let me be relaxed for a whole week if it comes out with no problems--we shall see.

And cross your fingers--I may have finally gotten Moo off of dry food and onto wet food. I've been experimenting with different wet foods to interest her and mixing them with fortiflora powder, but I may have found a wet food she will eat--Nutro's Salmon/tuna pate. Both she and Tuxie are a little unnerved by not having the dry food around to nibble, and Moo is not really eating a lot of the wet food yet--Tuxie is finishing it off, but that's better than his finishing off her dry food, which is higher in carbs. He eats a special diabetic wet food which I mix with a little of other higher protein wet foods to keep him interested. But Moo's been eating a little of this wet food for 2 days now., and I hope she continues, and starts to eat a little more--I want her to lose some weight but not starve. It would be so much better for both of their health to get rid of the dry food. Wish us luck!

I've also been brushing Moo's teeth for the past couple of months every couple of days, and that's been going well, but the past week I've been able to add in brushing Tuxie's as well. Today I clipped all of our toe nails. A high kitty maintenance time.

I hope all is well with ya''ll.
