I GOT THE JOB!!! I GOT THE JOB!!! I GOT THE JOB!!!

I am soooo very lucky. I guess I'm going to have to give up Whining Rights for some months now, huh?(-;

I start in two weeks. I'll be working as a part-time editor for a small translation company that is owned by a larger conglomerate. My work will involve editing the English in grammar and language-learning books prepared by speakers of less known languages worldwide, like Tajiki, Uzbeki, and Croation--basically languages of places where the US has diplomatic and military interests. And language-learning is good--as long as people are talking to each other they're not hitting each other for the time being, right?. And the office make-up is international, so it's the kind of environment I'm most comfortable in. I'll be working with the translators as well. This is just so ideal for me.

Besides this being such good work, it's a short commute and will include health benefits, which I haven't had for a few years. And with the way I live, the salary is good enough to maintain me and leave me time to work on my dissertation, keep up my daily exercise regimen that's helped me lose 30 lbs in the last two years and massively improve my health, and allow me my social play time to keep me a happy puppy. It just doesn't get better than this! I guess I really did something right this time! And I certainly got blessed with good fortune! Wheeee!!

And what is it with today? I see a few other happy folks on my friends list who have very good news today. Congratulations to the lovely [livejournal.com profile] abandonada, [livejournal.com profile] rawly, and [livejournal.com profile] oliveoyl. Go us!!!!! (-:(-:(-: I hope whatever gave us such good luck today makes it's way around my friends list before it moves on.

The mun and I are so happy for you, though now she'll need to cross out a sentence or several in her letter to you in which she wishes you luck in the job search.

Editing! Our hearts are with you for that - call us if you need an assistant. :-)
