Charlie Ross is doing his One Man LotR Show at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA tomorrow night, and I highly recommend it if you can make it and scrape up the money for the ticket. It's totally hilarious. I saw it a few years ago at ORC in LA, so I bet he's added some more material since. The food is good at the Birchmere, too (regular DC area prices), so you don't have to eat beforehand.

He's been doing a One Man Star War's show for the past several years, so maybe you saw that? I didn't get a chance to catch it when it was in town, but I was never as big a Star Wars nerd as a LotR nerd. He did the LotR one once before at ORC a few years ago, where I saw it. This show is the beginning of his taking the LotR one on tour for the next few years. He does an amazing job. All the years his poor family had to suffer alone putting up with him.

I only find out like a few days before if I'm in the lineup or not, alas. I imagine if I had told you when I first knew about it, you'd still have already booked the ticket to this.

If you had gone to the pride parade last weekend, that was another opportunity to see my band. Heh. I'll try to post them on lj more often. I do post them to facebook/twitter.

But, we are rehearsing at Dupont tomorrow from 10-1, if you'd like to briefly check that out. I'm supposed to be switching instruments tomorrow, but I'm playing the one I have now in the performance, so who knows.

I went to the festival on Sunday instead of the Saturday parade this year. I had volunteered at the website weeks ago to sit at Equality Maryland's table but they never responded, which may be just as well because I didn't manage to find their table anyway--hope they were there and I just missed them, but they don't make it easy to volunteer with them--I'll have to keep trying.

SO you were at ORC in LA? I was there too! I only caught snips of that show (I wasn't feeling well that day and so a few of us were having very quiet time in our hotel room and by the time we came back, that show was nearly finished!) :)

This is his first show in a run of doing this act. He's hoping to take it around for a few years like he did with the SW one, so you may get another chance.

When you have a longer trip where you can take a little time out, I'd love to meet you.
