Now you're back at Greenbelt Lake again, in the first week of November, before the fall foliage peaks. This time of year it's covered in Canadian geese, as you can see below.





The sweet gums have been magnificent this year in a whole range of colors; you can see some bright salmon leaves here:



In addition to the Canadian geese we have mallard ducks all year:



There were a ton of fluffy little ducklings born this summer, and the survival rate was pretty good this year by the looks of it. We also have a couple of white ducks and geese, a pair of pretty wood ducks, an egret or two, and one great blue heron with its slow prehistoric walk through the shallows. Around the time of these pics, I also spotted a big crested kingfisher. I didn't spot any hummingbirds this year, but we do get them.

I promise the next part to be a little less fowl. *runs*

I love kingfishers. Looks like you had much better fall colors than we did. I like the sweetgum pic!
