My dad is getting a catheterization tomorrow. It's mainly exploratory, so we can find out what the next step is for his heart condition before we can reschedule his spinal surgery. So we'll see from there. It's same day surgery, so he'll be home tomorrow evening. This is just dragging out so badly for him. I'll be going up to Jersey tomorrow to spend the weekend with them.

My foot is finally getting better--the fascia has healed and the pain is just localized around the bone spur. So between the physical therapy, the night splint, stretches, and the cushion it finally dawned on my to put under my foot when I'm driving, I'm finally getting better--I'm still mad the podiatrist dragged things out so many months before sending me to PT sp that I lost the summer--oh well. It will never be 100% due to the bonespur, so no more long walks up and down the Outer banks from Kitty Hawk to Nags head and back like I used to do. )-: But I should be able to get it to the point that I can do a couple mile walks again--hopefully a little longer without too much pain, and will just have to get back into using a bike for my longer adventures. And more fun--my crown on my bottom tooth popped off yesterday--so one end starts to heal and the other one goes. Yay. I'll get that put back on Wednesday when we decide whether to go with an implant or bridge for the upper tooth.

I brought Tuxie up to stay the night since it's going to go down into the upper 30's tonight--the coolest it's been yet. He kept cuddling in my lap when I came back from my swim, so I couldn't leave him out there. I saw Moo earlier this evening, but she wasn't around when I came back and I couldn't leave Tuxie out there since he was glued to my lap. I'll go down and look for Moo one more time before bed. He's sitting on the cat condo, and after initial hisses, everyone is doing fine and starting to relax.

I've been reading the Harry Potter books the last couple months for stress relief--they are a lot of fun and do get better and better. Always nice when something popular is actually good. I'm on TOotP right now. My mom has been reading them, so we should be able to have good chats about that. And I'm going to take my laptop up there with me--it's still in the box, so maybe I'll take it out and figure it out while there.

You and your family are in my thoughts today. Hope that the catheterization goes well and that it reveals enough about your dad's condition to get him back on track for everything. *hugshugshugs*

Ty, hon. Well, as you know now, it got him on track, albeit a very roundabout one. The percentages are with us for tomorrow's surgery, so we'll go with those. *hugshugshgus*

I had a cardiac catheterization in 1996 to fix a problem. It's not that bad. Annoying, yes, because they kept me partially awake for mine.

Good thoughts to you and yours today.

Ty so much--I'm holding onto those wishes for tomorrow, if you don't mind. They discovered he had a much more severe stenosis than they thought, so he's in the hospital and surgery for it is tomorrow.

I hope things went well with your father and I'm glad your foot is doing better. I hope Tuxie and MooMoo are placed before the weather gets any colder. Wishing best of luck with everything.

Ty--we need that luck--triple bypass surgery is tomorrow. I hope the kitties get placed too--I don't like Saki and Milli being made to be so tense in their own home, but so far no blood has been shed, and when we have below freezing weather, I'm ready to take them in at those times.

Good luck to your dad and to your foot and to your kitties. (I wish we could help with the kitties, but supergee is so allergic.... Actually, I wish I could help with your dad and your foot, but I washed out of pre-med.)

Order of the Phoenix is definitely much better than the two books around it--there's so much interesting event, and the change in tone from boy's adventure to open but unacknowledged warfare goes very smoothly. Half-Blood Prince is a big step down, definitely just marking time until the final volume.

Ty. (-:

Yeah, I love the book starting with a pissed off and finally adolescent-acting Harry in the aftermath of what he went thru at the end of TGoF, and that it picked up immediately with my questions at the end there, which were, "OK, aren't there any underground resistance groups?" (-: The immersion in the adult world is smoothly done. As a novel though, I really liked the pacing and structure of TGoF the most of the books thus far, and loved how it switched focus as the priorities of youth fell away at the end. I like the subject matter in OotP and all the issues being drawn in, but I'm not sure yet if it's going to hang together as tightly yet--parts of it have lagged for me, but it could be the stress with my dad's situation interfering with my concentration.
