Not picking up a kitten already spoken for does make sense to me, honestly. I'd definitely have petted her too, whether or not I'd dared a snuggle. Possibly a smooch on the top of her fuzzy head... oh for heaven's sake, tiny dilute tortieness, you have stolen my heart clean away, and I'm multiple removes from the situation!
