It is. He may be going into remission due to my tapering off the dry food, and that may have been the cause of all this. So ultimately, this may turn out to be a wonderful thing for his long term health, if we can get him through this dangerous time of transition. I'm waiting to hear from the vet if his blood sugar is reading stable enough for him to go home tonight or tomorrow. Right now he seems to need only half his usual dose and only once a day instead of twice. But his appetite isn't as good today, which is a worry, especially since I'll need to keep him on a new med.
