A very happy birthday to
mews1945!!! For your birthday, Saki has decided to deliver herself to you.

SAKI: I'm all bagged up and ready to visit Mews. It's kind of weird, though, that I'm in a bag and can still see you. It's like I'm in the Bag World. And you must be a Bagwraith.

MOO: Why is Saki in a bag? Is this a thing? Is everyone in a bag? I didn't think so . . .

MOO: Saki you look stupid in there. You're not even hidden. And if you stay in there, you'll be turned into freeze-dried cat and sent up to the International Space Station for astronauts to munch on. And it would serve you right, too!

SAKI: To the Moon, Moo! Take a fiddle or just jump over it! Leave me alone!

TUXIE: Doot. Doot. DoobyDoo. I don't see anything unusual here.

TUXIE: I have no idea where Saki is. Nope. Not me. Not a clue.

TUXIE: There are no bags anywhere I can see either. Nope.

SAKI: Well, I'm still in the bag and this is the end, so I hope you like visiting Bag End with me for your birthday, Ms. Mews.
And next we'll take a stroll around the lake:

Here's that corner of the lake with all the wildflowers, earlier in the season before the gallardia and black-eyed susans took center stage.

Some of the gallardia are still blooming now.

The mountain laurels bloomed late this year, but put on a good show.

There have been at least 3 broods of wood ducklings this year, and a couple of broods of mallards.

This is one of my favorite stretches along the path.

This little guy was walking on the path, so we took him down by the edge of the water where he'd be less likely to be stepped on. He's disgruntled, but still wishes you a happy birthday anyway.

And here's a wildflower bouquet of Elvish elanor-like star of bethlehem's among some Elijah blue flowers to send you off with. I hope you're feeling better and had a lovely day.
