man, he lived a loooong time. Not sure exactly, but I would say at least 5 years. I got a better one. When my daughter was 'graduating' from elementary school, i went to pick her up. She had a jar w/tadpole in it. "mom, can i take this home?" (sez i to self: 'that's safe. Poor thing won't ever live")
When she graduated high school, we still had him. And he was HUGE. OMG, she cried so hard when the poor guy died. I had to bury him in the back yard.
