. . . So I turned in the paper today. The 30 page seminar paper on postcolonial theory that's been holding me up for 6 pitiful years for a course that I probably should never have taken. So I've done all the course work (as soon as the prof gets around to submitting my grade), and the qualifying exams, and language requirement, and all's go for me to be ABD and do my dissertation . . . except I need to be reinstated in the program because I took so damn long. And I should be really ecstatic to have this lodestone off my back, but I got an email reply from my adviser yesterday that has me nervous--just not sure if she's going to be in my court or not. In any case, there's a battle ahead for me to get reinstated that I may not win. So, we'll see how it goes.
So I rewarded myself with going out for sushi and buying the Bingo action figure with the light up sword. (-: Still feeling too intimidated to be properly celebratory yet, but I'm working on it. Go me, whoo, and all that. Yeah.
But this was a big step in getting me out of the hole I've been stuck in. So next things on the agenda for the summer besides working on reinstatement: fix up the resume and job hunt, get the paper work on the dental discount program I enrolled in and get dental work done, do some transcribing I still owe, edit my Tolkien paper and send it out to a journal, start catching up on the Cavendish scholarship I've been missing, install that new virus program and figure out how to use more functions on my printer, myriad housecleaning projects I've been putting off, clean the table so I can install my dvd player and finally treat myself to watching my extended FOTR dvd, keep up my exercising and keep cutting back on unnecessary eating and keep losing weight like I've been doing, and relax in the evening and have fun MESPTing when I can. And give this cat who's hanging over my screen more attention because she's a total love and so is the other one. (-: That is all for now.

Re: YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!
But for now, I got to find a job and pay my bills as the nest egg I saved up is running out. But I will give my lil muses a chance to play this week. (-:
Isn't that a pretty piece? I loveses Vaughan Williams stuff.

ALWAYS take time to savor a major accomplishment like this!
I hope they let you be reinstated, but you know the battle you need to fight for that, so I don't think they really have much of an edge on you. Best of luck on the rest of your plans, must feel sooooo weird to think HEY, I have a LIFE to lead! after all of this! (And Bingo has made a few appearances here of late, despite you being so caught up in the paper- so you know I'M happy to hear he might be able to come out and play even more now!)

Thanks for the reminder!
Thank you.(-: It does feel nicely odd to have this one weight off. And yeah, Bingo and my other pups are my spot of fun in all of it--my reminder that writing can actually be fun--so I kept them going a bit--I'm going to keep Bingo around as long as he sticks around. It makes me feel so wonderful that you're still enjoying his adventures--I feel so honored to hear that he's giving someone else pleasure--truly--and it feels like I must be doing something right.(-: *does little happy writer's ego dance* Thanks.(-;
