Inspired by this anthology and the comments that brought taters to the fore, the response of the anthology editor here, the succinct commentary on the title here, the way all such fail should be handled here, all first brought to my attention today by sparkymonster, and properly contextualized here.

I'm glad you mentioned this in e mail. I needed to get my butt back on Dreamwidth to catch up with things.

This is also why we need more women and POC editors in the first place.

Yeah, though we're not doing too great with some of the white women editors we've got, obviously with how 2009 started out. I noticed a lot of white women getting involved in SPUDFAIL that didn't bother to find time to comment at all in IBARW, and some of the white woman fail there was pretty bad. We need that intersectionality going even when it's not including white women's livelihoods on the line.
