This is sort of embarrassing and if you could see me right now I would probably be staring at my feet, which are twitching uncomfortably. OK I'm looking at the screen, but think you get what I mean. I guess what I'm trying to avoid saying is this is Ed, like from twenty years ago Ed. We share a couple of friends on our lists and actually I stumbled on you about a month ago or so, but was too embarrassed to let you know. Why? Damned if I know. Maybe because I am far from the person you used to know, maybe because I'm not sure if I ever was, or maybe it’s because I thought I might be an unwelcome occurrence in your life right now. That's nothing toward you; just, I think, my general feelings of late. I guess another reason I'm a little embarrassed is because I had this whole LJ fiasco with Kristina and am amazingly gun shy of these things now.
I'm not putting you on my friend's list for two reasons.
A) I'm not sure you would feel comfortable knowing I might be peeking in on your life. Since I found it I only just now looked again out of deference. Promise I won’t look if you don’t want me to.
2) We share friends and I have mentioned you once or twice (nothing unkind) so I wasn't sure how you would feel about it.
If you want to be you are welcome though. I think who I am these days might surprise you though; hopefully it won't make you feel uncomfortable though. Whew, it may seem silly, but this has been eating at me. It felt like some form of lie and it’s good to have it out.

Awww. Well, we told each other on email that we had LJ's--I just hadn't gotten around to answering yet because I've gotten bad at my email since I got on LJ--so no problem at all. I'm glad you did.(-: I didn't know how to find yours or I would have tracked you down (and I was going to hopefully find out when I emailed you, I was thinking.(-: ) And it does feel kind of weird--the mixing of the old and the new, but please feel free to friend me if you'd like. Moonriver friended my LJ after I had posted something about Tolkien, and I friended back, but I don't know her well yet--we haven't really interacted. And Anne friended my main muse/sockpuppet/roleplaying character and a friend I collaborate with a lot thru that sockpuppet, and then we friended each other, so I've been getting to know her as a friend.
Some things about me are different from when we knew each other, some are regressively surprisingly the same. (-; But we can start getting to know each other again as well, through here as we started to do on email the past year, if you'd like.(-:

I got tigers, and a white one at that. Don’t know if it was purposeful, but if so thank you. I’m eating dinner (well whatever it is you eat at midnight) and having a glass of plum wine with it. I don’t know if you remember, but at least once we went to a Japanese restaurant in NYC with the traditional “Mongol pants” Japanese curtain out front. I can’t remember the name even though I frequented the place when I lived there. We ate sushi and shumai and you had three glasses of plum wine because it tasted so good. I was more accustom to drinking so it really didn’t register with me until we walked outside and hit the cold air, then you suddenly got a bit tipsy. Literally, I thought you were going to tip over for a second and I had to catch you. Or perhaps it was just some ploy to steal a hug. Anyway, that just sort of came to me, probably the plum wine going to my head.
Of course you’re welcome to friend me silly. You know there’s something I’ve actually meant to post in my journal a few times, but with you on my friend’s list it would seem odd doing it publicly. I don’t mind telling you though, so I hope you don't mind my unburdening in the backwaters of your journal. I like saying things out loud, it sort of exorcizes them if you understand. The reason I broke up with you really didn't have to do with you. It was because I felt like a faker, which is odd because I also felt like you were one of the first people to really know me. I remember the great sushi restaurant--and drinking plum wine--don't remember that I drank three though and was tipsy (as all get out, I must have been(-:). As far as ploys, I was never into doing that kind of thing. And with my natural clumsiness, I wouldn't have the opportunity to practice it as a ploy anyway. Add tipsy to that, and I can guarantee you, if I tripped, it was most definitely genuine.(-:

Understood and my apologies. I've been workig through a lotof things lately and tend to blurt. If I said anything of embarrassment feel free to delete, there's no offense taken. Lately I feel very unsocialized, it's my general confusion about how people work.
My kitties have gone to live with Di. Landlord regulations. One was all back with a bit of a thumb, hence the name Digit, though she loved to sit and watch me n the computer as well. The other was black and white with a foot fetish, so I caled her Pod. They are missed, especially under the blankets when I sleep.I have to run, catch you later though my shedule is hairy in the forseeable future.
Awwww! Hi!! I came on LJ to play in a Middle earth Role playing game on LJ. My main character was Bingo Bolger-Baggins--the name Tolkien gave to Frodo before he decided he liked the name Frodo better, and what he was called in the early drafts you can see in The History of Middle Earth volumes Christopher Tolkien published. So I knew a whole different bunch of people on LJ--only a couple of them are still on LJ. I wasn't at all sure about keeping a journal for me. The bbolger_baggins you see commenting above is my character--I spent a lot of time writing him between 2002-and 2006.
