lavendertook: Cessy and Kimba (saki sleeping)

I could never get good pics of Saki on my camera, but my macbook's camera loves her and is able to capture some of the essence of Sakiness.

I got Saki when she was around a year old from the PG County shelter 7 1/2 years ago--a sweet little stuffy-nosed curled up thing. Then 5 months of hell ensued, because she was dead set on eradicating Milli from our efficiency. Milli had never lived with another cat, is timid on reflex, and had no clue how to fight, and within days, I had to take her to the vet for a big hole Saki put in her tail. It was just a worse case scenario, but I couldn't bear to bring Saki back. Lots of determination, a long leash attached to the bathroom sink, kitty prozac for Saki, encouraging Milli to fight, and soap bubbles finally helped them make their peace, when Saki was willing to accept Milli as part of her territory, and Milli started to have fun with sparring, and could relax with her. Luckily, Saki has mellowed over cat territory issues over the years.

I dubbed her a Took for the mischievousness, but she's really my Sam-cat through and through.

And for some reason, Lj is not letting me insert anymore pics into this post, so more pics of Saki another time.

Pics of Moo, Tuxie, me, the woods from my windows, my sun room garden, action dollies, old ORC pics, koalasesss, and other stuff will be coming soon to an entry near you. :-P

She's a beauty!

I have never been able to get good pictures of Emmit with a regular camera, but have better luck with my cell phone camera. Must be a blue-eyed phenomenon.

Ty.(-:

I think that's it--the macbooks camera is a gentle flash and has red eye reduction to boot. I wants to see lots more pics of Emmit--I love his lil face.(-:

Maybe--she does have tortie splotchiness to her coat--it's just a paler mix than I normally think of torties in. She's some kind of siamese mix. I think of her as a quasi-lilac point mix, because she's warmer than the gray of a blue point, and when you try to decide if she's primarily brown or gray, you can't decide. She's really the color of washing machine lint--but I guess "washing machine lint-point siamese" wouldn't be a popular designation, so I shouldn't try to coin it. (-;

I hadn't heard of the tortie siamese designation before--it could fit her, seeing your icon kitty. Is your icon kitty your kitty?

yes, i think she does.

and yes, this is mine. the vet says she is a cream and tortie point siamese mix.

OK, I'll start using that designation when people ask about her.

Awwww--what's her name? Do you have pics of her up?--wanna see!

I've spent most of my life living with Meesers--my other 3 right now are American shorthairs, but I've got to have a siamese in the dwelling to make it home. They just are so much more social than other kinds of cats in general. Heeee, Saki just came over and tapped my knee. (-:

not a lot of pix up, my cameraphone doesn't really pick up her colors. i've heard tho that its mostly female cats that get the tortie coloring, but i otherwise dont know much about the mix, i've seen very few pictures of them.

right now her name is 'feline monstrosity' *grumbles*

Yeah, I couldn't get good pics of Saki-essense on my regular camera, but I got a macbook this fall that is a good Saki-sympathizer and is the source of these pics of her. I do know that regular tortie and calico cats coats are sex-linked to being female, so that makes sense for the tortie point siamese's too. I know that orange tabby's coats tend to be sex-linked male, but it's not totally uncommon to find female orange tabby's. I've never heard of a male calico or tortoise shell, so it's probably rare.

Ehehe! Awwww, you can't stay mad at those adorabe huge bat ears for long, now!

Do you mind if I friend you already?

you can't stay mad at those adorabe huge bat ears for long, now!

this maneuver involves plopping next to my water glass, sticking paw in water glass, licking paw. repeat.

now its not like she doesnt have plenty of fresh water. she just likes sticking her gob into *mine*.

of course feel free to friend, but i tend to not friend people back unless i've met them in person.

Ah. *glances at you with tacful sympathy* It's always hard when they have a drinking problem.

*sighs* It was the self-filling bowl with resevoir that really caused troubles here. Saki messed with it some, but Tuxie would not be content until he splashed the entire damn resevoir across the floor and into the rug. No more self-filling bowls keeps them on the wagon now. They all prefer their drinking glasses and mugs to water dishes, though.
