Greenbelt Parade and Stray Kitty Bloggin' marches on

I had high hopes yesterday that a coworker would take the kitties, but that fell through, so I will continue with Moo and Tuxie pic spam.

However, since there is more to life than cat blogging, contrary to popular belief, did you know that my town LGBT group (that's me second from the left) won first place in Greenbelt's Labor Day Parade? We did--we are so cute! When someone puts pics of this year's parade up, I'll share the link.

For this year's Sixties theme, we had our new tie dye t-shirts emblazoned with "You can't spell Greenbelt without a spell checker GBLT," and some of the folks made tissue paper flowers that covered Claire's car, anchored by Hilary's very clever idea of throwing garden netting over the car. I wove some of the silk flower strands into the hubcaps. Laura taught the people carrying the rainbow colored sheets a move that allowed them to wind them in a circle. I had a little basket for carrying our give aways and a rainbow skirt and veil. And Shirley led us on her segway scooter with orange peasant skirt and rainbow cape a-flowing--she looked way cool, along with Bunny and Jen wielding a flower and rainbow flag covered baby carriage with baby in tow. We had a nice little low-key after party, though I had to leave early due to my decrepit foot. It's such a nice little collection of folks we have.

I'll do a health update about my dad's impending spinal surgery, the bee swarm that attacked my mom, and my ongoing sinus, teeth, and foot stuff in another post--so yeah--lots of reading goodness to look forward to, my friends. My kitty roommates are being their wonderful selves. Work is going well as ever for which I am blessed. Dissertation--not so well. And yay, seawings1 has an LJ! Now if her computer will ever work . . .

Onto my stray kitties--tonight when I fed them, Moomoo took a few bites, turned around and came over to me and gave my hand a kiss, and then went back to join Tuxie in chowing down. Yeah, I'm owned.

My god, they are SOOOO cute. I wish I could have them, but I live in another country and all that...

They are. Today Tuxie ate Pounce treats out of my hand. I don't think he qualifies for feral status anymore. (-;
