Octavia Butler is gone from us

Octavia Butler died Saturday. Too incredibly young--only 59.

I met her at a small book signing once. Strikingly tall woman--and so sweet. I would like to have known her.

Her writing is brilliant and if you haven't read her, put her at the top of your list.

The world is much poorer now without her.
