Saki owned me. Here's how:

Excuse me, I want your attention.

In case you haven't noticed, I have a very fluffy belly.

But if you're too busy, I'll try to understand.

Now that I've got you where I want you . . .

Mine.

All mine.

Any objections?

I didn't think so.

You belong to me.

Last night was one week without her. The toughest. Just got to keep trudging forward without her, one week at a time. Thank you for all the care you've been sending me, my friends. It's been much appreciated and very needed. I miss my Saki noodle so much.

So socially adept and loving. I'm glad she made it into the digital age--I've been pouring through the albums and her pre-digital pics just didn't do her justice. She had gotten tired of the camera the last year and would look away more when I'd pull it out--that's why I didn't take any once we planned on surgery and waste her time with it.

lovely pics of your lovely fluff-dragon!

I've gotten anon comments from time to time on posts that I wondered if they were you and ran out of time to ask--thanks for signing in and telling me. She is a possessive fluff-dragon. I've been reading Naomi Novik's Temeraire books--all about a human-dragon bond, which are very good comfort reading for where I am now, so your designation is very appropriate.

ah, those dragons.....we must ne'er slay them with anything other than love.....

Who could not be hooked by such a gentle cuddlepuss? Hang in there, dearest xxx

I don't understand how she wound up in the shelter when I found her--some people just lack sensibility. Thank you, dearest. One week past--the worst is done--as I accept her ripples smoothing away from me, I am left her memory to keep as my fixed star. *hugs*

I wish I could remember the name of the nincompoop who wrote a scientific (ha!) article that appeared in a magazine last year saying cats (and virtually every other animal) apparent affection for their humans was a food-getting strategy, a learned behavior, nothing to do with the desire for interaction, bonding, or affection. Saki demonstrates the rebuttal. Take that, nincompoop writer-scientist.

Yeah, I think I heard or read that study. Yeah, an idiot. As if there is not good science behind why we bond and love to enhance survival and so do other creatures, even those not so genetically close to us as all other mammals. And some individuals have more empathy and social smarts--siamese's are more colony oriented than other domestic cats--more like lions than leopards that way, and Saki was a particularly nurturing and empathetic/manipulative ( 2 sides of one coin) little being.

I think you can remember what pic of Angelo these pics of Saki recall to me.

Oh what wonderful pics of Angelo! What a lover he was. And precious Charles and Elsa. (_:

Yes, he was a lover. The breeder had already nick-named him "Lover Boy" when we first came to look at her kittens.

Thank you. I hope you are taking good care of yourself. Feel free to message me if you want to talk to someone in the same place. *hugs you tight*

Who could resist that face? You were so lucky to have each other. I know how hard it is right now, and my heart goes out to you. *big hugs*

I don't think anyone with a heart could resist. I was lucky to have all that love of hers directed at me. Thank you, my friend. I know you know well. *hugs tight*
