I brought Tuxie home an hour ago. He is half on my lap licking his paws. He had a big dinner and ate just fine.

The doc told me this afternoon that he was not eating today--he had been eating fine previously, so this was a worrisome development. What she failed to mention is that last night they put the Cone of Shame on him because he had started worrying at his catheter site (worrying at it because he was feeling better and not doped up anymore). Doh! Yes, a big cone around your head can be a great inhibitor to eating wet food--who knew? The tech was hand feeding him some Temptations treats throughout the day just to make sure he had something--high carb dry treats--just what a diabetic cat needs to mess with his blood sugars . . . they meant well. I am so glad to have him home you have no idea.

So far so good, and we'll see how it goes with his meds and his body chemistry. I have great plans for the three of us to do lots of sleeping this weekend. I hope we can pull it off. (-:

Here's hoping you and the kitties have a peaceful weekend of sleep and cuddling.

Oh, yeah, the cone of shame on a kitty is just ...so embarrassing that the cats are happy that they can't blush! >^.^<

Continuing to send up prayers for you and Tuxie and Moo for a great and healthy weekend full of much sleeping, just the perfect amount of eating, and awesomely safe BG levels for our little kitty hero! :)

(BTW, I happen to know his mama REALLY rocks. :D You've been a real trooper and hero yourself this week, sweetie. Pat yourself on the back and be kind to yourself while you're caring for your furbabies.)

*huggies*

Thank you, hon. He seems to be doing really well, and with some positive developments like evidence his neuropathy is lessening. If we get through the next few weeks, he may have a new lease on life.

I am still very wiped, but we all 3 had a good nap this afternoon.

It is--so far so good, and maybe better. I am still very wiped, but we all 3 had a good nap together this afternoon.

I know you guys can pull off that sleeping thing. You have the talent and you are emotionally exhausted. Get some rest and tell Tuxie to keep improving! (Hugs)

We all 3 napped together with flair this afternoon, so you are very right. I am still very wiped, as is Tuxie, but at the same time, his legs are stronger--he is jumping int he bathroom window which he hasn't done in a year or 2. I think his diabetes is indeed in remission. *hugs*

Woo-hoo! I'm thrilled that Tuxie is home and doing well. Wishing you all sweet dreams and lots of snuggles for the weekend.

He was so "OMG, I LOVE YOU GUYS SOOOO MUCH!!!!" Friday night. Nuzzling like he never has before and if he could have sunk into my pores he would have he needed to by loved so tight. He even tried to love on Moo, who had to hiss him off, but then came over and snuffled his face--so cute. (-:

So happy for you and Tuxie!! Yep, when Helo had to wear his cone of shame, he ate way less overall...

From: [identity profile] lavendertook.livejournal.com

Yup, it was silly of them not to put the 2 things together, but I"m grateful they got him through this. He's doing well and may have a new lease on life. I am so wiped. <3

How about if Harry and I send our support this weekend by doing lots of sleeping?

From: [identity profile] lavendertook.livejournal.com

We appreciate the solidarity. We all 3 had a good nap together this afternoon. I am still wiped and strung out, but Yay for Monday off to hopefully reset. Tuxie is doing great so far. He is very sleepy as I would expect, but he is also jumping in the bathroom window again, as he hasn't done in a year or 2. So his neuropathy is definitely on the wane and I do think he is in diabetes remission. If we get through the next few weeks, he will have a new lease on life. I think the seizure, so unexpectedly, may actually have left him with beneficial changes to his brain chemistry, but we'll see in time.

So happy to hear Tuxie is home and doing so much better. Enjoy your reunion weekend.

From: [identity profile] lavendertook.livejournal.com

Thank you. OMG, such a loving reunion--he was just full of love for the whole world--Moo was less appreciative of that than I. (-; I am wiped, so napping with cats has been a good way to spend some of it.

i highly recommend a nice long sleep, followed by low-impact cat-naps....

very glad you are all home together again!

From: [identity profile] lavendertook.livejournal.com

I am still wiped, but we all 3 napped together this afternoon. Moo kind of liked being an only cat, and was not appreciative of his trying to rub his love to her, and gave him hisses that clearly translated as, "Yes, I am glad to see you, but geezus would you fucking back off already!" She did snuffle his face later, so I'm pretty sure on that translation of her hisses. He is still wiped, but his neuropathy is clearly better--if we can get through the next few weeks he may have a new lease on life.

Thank you!!! We are both still very wiped, but we all 3 took a nice nap together this afternoon. He seems to be doing well, and maybe even better--hsi neuropathy is on the wane and he does seem to be in diabetes remission and maybe other positive developments for him, unbelievably.. He could have a new lease on life if we can get through the next few weeks.
