Twin Birthdays!!!

Happy Birthday to two very wonderful hobbit folk, my dear friend jan_u_wine and addie71!!! I hope it is a fine one and you have a great long birthday weekend! Here's some pretties and critters in your honor I saw the past week:


Mountain laurels--opening a little late this year due to our cold rainy May until this week.


A very mellow frog I saw today who wanted to send birthday greetings along.




A male skink, who made it through this winter, and probably another as well.


A female skink who made it through the winter.


A snapper turtle sunning--not a huge one, but probably about a foot long shell.


Two intertwined water snakes hanging out together.


A rat snake who was hanging out across the pathway today.


Roses by the Youth Center near the lake, because you both should have roses.

I know I've said this before but those mountain laurel flowers are amazing structures. TURTLE! One of those snakes appears to have had a heavy lunch. o_O :-)

I am also always amazed by the buds closed and open. I hadn't noticed the snakes bump before--I wonder if the other snake is protecting it while it digests. (-:

These mountain laurels are lovely. Also the roses--I can almost smell their scent! And I enjoy seeing all the critters!
