My beautiful girl with her little crossed paws, contemplative:

Princess Saki enthroned in the sunroom with a subject at her feet.

The forth week without her, Tuxie seemed to have stopped looking for her, but he is still mostly staying near or in her spots in the living room, and is staying more present with me when I'm home. Right now, he is lying where he is sitting in the picture above, right in front of me. He and Moo both licked my hand twice this past week, a totally new behavior for them.

Sakushka always had to throw one back foot over the rim of her bed. I have a pic of her doing that the first year she was with me.

The ottoman was her most frequented bed spot since we moved to this apartment 8 years ago, where she could guard me when I sat on the loveseat sofa. In her bed like a little Saki sunday.

I don't think she slept as solid as she should have when I was home--she always had to keep an eye on me. Little fluff dragon in the center of things. I miss her so much.

She clearly loved keeping an eye on you, so sleep would not be her priority while you needed watching! After all, you definitely needed her guidance. Such a lovely girl. And Moo and Tuxie probably just want to remind you that they're still there, should you need them.

Poor Tuxie and Moo. I'm sure they are confused and miss their companion, too.

*hugs*

Tuxie has definitely missed her, though I think he is adjusting better now. Some people think you should show them the dead body, and I wonder if I should have brought Saki's body home, but I don't know if they really understand, and also I know animals in the wild often go off and hide away when dying, so I wonder if it's not usual for animals to never see their dead companions. I don't know. But I'm watching him close and playing with him more. He wouldn't go into Saki's bed next to my pillow, but has been eying it wistfully, until I put him in it last night, at which he purred and spent a good part of the night in.

I don't think Moo has really missed Saki--they were family and would occasionally cautiously touch noses, but they didn't really care for each other. Moo did not like being second fiddle to the charming Saki who tended to dominate my attention in a good way, and due to her illness, so it's understandable Moo didn't like it. If they were age mates, I would have worked more to not show favoritism, but not when it was likely Moo would have time after Saki was gone for me to make it up to her, Moo being seven years younger.

Moo and Tuxie are being more cuddly. Moo is enjoying not having to compete for attention. I'm hoping more attention now can help erode her pissy side. I'm hoping it might make her and Tuxie closer--they haven't had much to do with each other since Moo was totally done mothering him when he was 6 months old and foisted him off on Saki. It's her time to shine and get as much attention as she wants and she deserves that. We'll see what she does with it.

I had to laugh at pic #4.......she looks like she is extremely p.o.'d and coming up with an exquisite bit of come-up-ed-ness (not that *that* is a word, as LJ just told me).........

and now she can, dear heart. May flights of angels sing the sweet, velvet-coatedness of her to her rest.

Such a wonderful cat being she was. "Was" is still hard.

I just dream she is play-fighting with Milli, and grooming and cuddling with Stormie, and having a luncheon with Tonks, Sophie, and Smudge.

sometimes dremes are all we have.........but that's not necessarily a bad thing....they are ever so much better than nightmares being all we have....

Very true. I will cling to gratitude she was in my life and wrap our 16 years together around me.

16 years! more love, for more time, than many a relationship has.

you are fortunate indeed!

((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs back))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

truly a seductress. No wine, no dinner, no movies.....just heart and soul. We should all find a purrrrr(e) being like that.

She was quite a luminescent little bubble I was lucky to be loved by. Not that she couldn't be a pain in the butt, but her headstrong-ness was an awesome part of the package.

From: [identity profile] jan-u-wine.livejournal.com

it would be too boring to be loved by a being that is *just* luminous. The strong will is part of the luminosity, the ying-yang of the thing. The light shines that much brighter for knowing there is a will and a promise of aggressive *self-hood* behind it, imho

I agree. It made her lovingness and care a choosing. And I was blessed to be chosen.

Thank you, dear.

I was just able to watch the first couple of minutes thus far--boy, Saruman goes on--you hadn't even spoken yet. You look terrific though. Red hair suits you.

They do have so many cozy places to cuddle up. They're lucky kitties. That pic with her paws crossed is so sweet.

I was so lucky to have her bubbleness for 16 years. And I'm lucky to have good cats like Moo and Tuxie.
