. . . because how often is there a chance for those? Obama back in and the medical care act unassailable! Twenty women in the Senate! 10 more and the guys will start thinking women are in the majority there. (-; Out lesbian, in the Senate, even--yay Tammy Baldwin! Yay out bi Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema making up for AZ's redness! And yay out trans woman Stacie Laughton in NH's state legislature!

Just a list of links:

The awesome firsts from this election listed at the WaPo.

The celebration of all that and more, aptly titled from Ta-Nehisi Coates, thanks to [personal profile] supergee.

Celebratory because it's a truth that needs to be faced, and I'm glad it can no longer be avoided: the race breakdown and the problem with white identity.

Just the facts, ma'am from Rachel Maddow, thanks to [personal profile] lanning.

Enjoy!

I loved Rachel Maddow's commentary. She was absolutely spot on. It was a tremendous gain in so many ways. Now we need to build on it. :))

Lovely post! So much good stuff this time and I usually don't get to say that after an election. It's fun. We should have more good elections. : )

So much goodness to enjoy and yes, Obama won in a LANDSLIDE and Liz Warren too. I'm still grinning; it more than makes up for the House still being in the re-pubs hands.

An electoral landslide, yes, but I wouldn't call the the popular vote a landslide, bb, though it is getting nicely wider as more votes come in--the state of Washington only has 74% of votes in and I'm not sure what's up with that. It may wind up being at least 51% -- 47% when they're all in, which would be much better. I'm not so sure it all makes up for the House in Repub hands--I don't know if there is anything the President can do to make them budge, but I'm glad he has the mandate to push his hardest now. If only he can get those upper class tax increases through. But the first move toward universal healthcare is slowly on it's way, whether they like it or not.

:-D Yup, LGBTIQ rights are coming along nicely.

This is a lot to celebrate!

Too late--I've gone back into worry mode today already ;-P Hearing too much about those recalcitrant bastards in Congress not wanting to budge in inch today. And looking at the percentages of how red the red states are as opposed to how blue the blue ones are. And reading about the angry white men's hate groups on the rise.

No one said it would be easy. *big sigh, puts it aside and grins with you*

I'm late to the party - but no less excited!! I don't think I even realized how anxious and scared I was until all of that was gone after the election.

Thanks for the links!! *hugs*
