Bingo agreed to sit for me this Froday evening so I could do his portrait. It's the first drawing I've done in more years than I care to think. I used ballpoint pen on copy paper and referred to the cap [livejournal.com profile] mews1945 posted from FotR of our hobbit standing by the Mirror of Galadriel. For [livejournal.com profile] claudia603 and [livejournal.com profile] annwyn55 who've had a sad Froday, with hopes to bring them a little cheer. That's really lovely, you should draw more! The eyes are very expressive and draw you in.

I commented to Bingo's journal, but I'll say again, you did a great job with this.

Beautiful work!

From one person who draws, but not nearly often enough, to another - if creating this gives you the same kind of joy that looking at it gives all of us, please draw more often.

Thank you! That's a lovely encouragement. It's good to hear from you. (-:

Oh, that's lovely! I think you got Frodo's look of concern and compassion just right. And yay for the curly hair! *longs to run fingers through it*

Thank you, Steph. (-: Luckily, curls are easy to draw. Getting his mouth and nose right, though, will take some time.

You obviously know how to draw. What a lot of sorrow I see in that picture, contemplative sorrow, not suicidal -- but sorrow.

From: [identity profile] lavendertook.livejournal.com

Thank you. Yes, as Samwise would put it, he's screwing up his courage to deal with that sorrow of what he's giving up.

And yes, when he's looking at Bilbo's book in your icon, it's eliciting the same mood.(-:

I think you've taken the portrait beyond the context of the film scene and given it its own context. Which is a cool thing to have done, I think.
