BTW, aside from the gnashing of teeth from those of us who have the Blues, lots of us think the election stuff is not so over yet. Check out the last few entries by [livejournal.com profile] queerbychoice and [livejournal.com profile] womzilla for good links, and a really nice list of links provided by [livejournal.com profile] ciardhapagan in [livejournal.com profile] ginmar's entry and you'll see that people are checking up on who has been democratically/legally naughty or nice, state by state. Vewwwy interesting. Voting irregularities I heard about from voters my canvassing partners talked to are even included in all this. Even if these investigations don't change the outcome of this election (nothing's official until at least Nov 12th), hopefully lawyers/Congressfolk will be following up on these cases to help get some voting reform in the system before the next major election. One can always hope, right?

So did any of the TV networks carry news of the protests going on in Ohio? Or the protest in Tuscon? Even any of the major newspapers? (Links courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] queerbychoice and [livejournal.com profile] mererid) Like what if Kent State fell in the forest and no one was there to broadcast it; would the sixties have occurred or would we still be stuck in the fifties? And all the media keeps talking about is the evangelical vote for which the stats keep changing, but still makes a nice distraction for us dems to focus our anger on Those Darn Born Again Throwbacks--feels more and more like a red herring to me. Hey, conspiracy theory: it's not just for nutballs anymore.

I'm still physically wrecked from my canvassing trip with a sinus headache that has filed for residency here, but it was a bit of an adventure, being my first time canvassing (going door-to-door to talk to voters and leaving campaign info), and I met some cool people and saw some pretty flora and fauna before the Long Silent Plane Trip Home, so I'll share more about it in an entry coming soon to a theater near you.
