LotR Trilogy in Arlington 4/25

OK, local hobbit posse!

Who's up for going to see the theatric version of LotR trilogy on the big (biggish, really) screen at Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse the Sunday after next, April 25th?

Also, I don't think that highly of the food there, so would anyone be up for missing part of TTT to get an early dinner at one of the restaurants on the block around the theater?

How big are your Rosaleen and Ammy-chan? I'll see what I can dig up for them, too.

Bingo Bear has a Ringers shirt that would probably fit Nasir, though it would lose him ninja cool points.

Ammy-chan is 16cm tall -- she's a wee bit shorter, but otherwise her body measurements are very close to the old Vogue Ginny dolls, or Barbie's little sister Kelly. Rosaleen is 43cm -- about an inch shorter but otherwise close in size to the Tonner American Model dolls, apparently. How big are your girls? I've been doing some housekeeping and have set aside a bunch of clothes and wigs, mostly girly stuff, that I need to clear out...but if your crew are about the same size as Barbie, it'll all be far too big. :(

And Nasir has a 16cm neck and 39cm chest, so it's definitely possible he could fit into shirts made for smaller plushes. No need to worry too much about the cool points, at home he's usually just lounging about in plain modern casuals.

Mine are all 1/6 scale--Barbie sized, and that's what I'm sticking, too. (Besides my action figure sized dolls that have the good doll furniture that I collected for making a mini Bag End, before I got into the much better 1/6 scale dolls.) .And the hobbits are Skipper sized. So I can bring Elven cloaks and stuff for Ammy-Chan at least.

I've bought a ton of Barbies, GI Joes, Ken's, and like dolls at the thrift shop that I've been moving heads and bodies around (some have better joints than others) on so I have enough Elves for crowd scenes in Eldamar and Tol Eressea, Have been picking up smaller dolls for Shire scenes, but it's hard to find ones with good joints. I just bought a bunch of accessories and clothes for the hobbits and Elves on ebay at minibarbie. (-:

Ooh, yes, there really seems to be a fantastic variety of furniture and accessories available in 1/6 playscale -- there's a lot to be said for the convenience and utility of working to a standard size. I'm always a little envious when I'm hunting for some particular item and inevitably all of the best pieces are 1/6, or 1/12 dollhouse scale...
