Here in Ohio I was getting desperate for the election to finally GET HERE so we would finally be spared the endless political ads. And yet, despite the saturation of Romney ads, and the bestest efforts of the Secretary of State [spit] to keep out the African American voters, and the billboards in inner city regions warning that "voter fraud is a felony!", we were declared for Obama too! Of course, they won't get all the early votes counted until the end of the month. Ish. Sometime much later than now.
But not possible for there to be enough change in voting stats to matter. So, relief.
YAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY - I'm crying tears of joy!! My little blue state is pretty awesome too - not only did I get a re-elected President Obama I got Elizabeth Warren as my new Senator!!
:-D We are lucky to be in the bluest of states. It looks like marriage equality and the dream act bills are passing here. I'm envious you've got Warren. (-:
Scott Brown had such false and hateful ads up against her - I was so worried. When they announced she won I literally cheered - I'm surprised my neighbors didn't hear me!!
Our first female Senator - it's about time!! And her speech was SO good - I can't wait for her to get to DC and start shaking things up!!
Yay!!! With what I know about social services now, I'd be afraid to move to any state that wasn't as blue as ours.
I distracted myself today by going out to feed Ms. Brigit, who looks well. I stayed up last night making her an insulated tote box house, sort of like this, because she may be getting a little snow from that nor-easter tomorrow night. I don't know if she'll use it or not, but at least it's there. We've had freezing temps the last couple of nights, which is really early here for that, so I've been rushed with winter prep.
My state is rubbish but President Obama won in spite of it! Thankfully, WV doesn't count for much, so the general narrow-minded ness of the population doesn't hurt other places. : ). I'm thrilled! My vote counted. The President won!
Why are their so many crabbed people in the prettiest places? It's so unfair. I'm sorry you are surrounded. But yay for elections going our way! Now people need to not forget this for the next Congress election or expect miracles to be performed in 2 years flat.
Yeah, I need to go out and take a drive and have the other drivers remind me I don't really like all the people in this state very much. (-; *hugs you*

I recommend staying away from the tele for the month or 2 leading up to an election. Not having a TV served me well for avoiding campaign burn out.

I will sleep relieved tonight on all counts.
