If I don't have something else lined up yet when the deadline for applying for COBRA is almost up, I'll go ahead and sign up for it for the first couple of months at least, and just know the time I have to not worry before finding a job is going to be shorter than I counted on, as my savings will be running out faster. I'm trying not to do the worrying in advance, and am holding onto the Gaffer's advice to Sam about borrowing trouble. Last time I was unemployed I didn't have that cushion, so I'm lucky for that.
