Oh, I had an instance of rapid heartbeat that made me weak and dizzy and sweaty. When it hit the 2-hour mark I called the squad. They did the chemical conversion that slows your heart back down- it made me feel ALL BETTER- but they said nope, I still had to go in. 6 hours in ER, tests showed that I actually had diverticulitis (had been to my regular doctor earlier that day thinking I had a bladder infection) so they admitted me. I was in the hospital proper for 15 hours before they released me. I did my followup with the regular doc, but, um, chose not to do the followup with the cardiologist. Yet. Because my navel herniation has gotten enough worse this summer that I am going in to see that surgeon in October, and specialist copays are so much higher.
And the cats. Corrigan suddenly lost a lot of weight earlier this year. Vet did simple tests in-house and said he seemed mostly OK, no diabetes, no sign of worms but they dosed him just in case, BUN a little elevated, they gave him antibiotics and sent him home. He eats a lot, drinks a lot, has no trouble peeing, has normal bowel movements, but he looks skeletal. He's clingy, kind of quiet, but I have no idea, other than "probably some kind of cancer somewhere" that is not showing itself. I'm supposed to do low-protein diet to spare stress on his kidneys, but he spits up whatever food I've tried, so we're doing an Iams Natural kibble set out in the bowls all day, plus a small amount of Purina Beyond canned food at dinner.
His sister Bright Eyes has taken on a severely large amount of weight, from me leaving food out all the time for the starving one. She's not comfortable, and I fear she's developing organ problems as a result.
Momcat Chloe is also pretty tubby now, but keeps on being herself, the Least Restful Cat to Pet, EVARR. Her I'm not worried about.
Mr. Dash is showing his age, and I can tell his hips are really sore most of the time. He spends a lot of time sleeping outside, still won't use the litter inside. I don't know what we're going to do as the really cold weather gets here. He mostly doesn't let me get him at all for things like combing or nail trimming- I am just not able enough, myself. So, you know, PERSONAL FAIL.
Nope. Never easier at my house! Hope things are going better for you now.
