Laramie Moot: Vedauwoo 1 and Update

Back in July, on our first full day, Saturday in Laramie, our gracious host hanarobi took some of us in the afternoon to a place east of Laramie called Vedauwoo, pronounced Vay'-de-voo, or rhymes with "Made a zoo." It was a picture perfect day, so it was easy to make lots of post-able pics.

This pic is actually from the end of the visit through the car window, just to give you the long vista.

And here we are--big impressive rocks surrounded by beautiful aspen and fur trees, and other flora.

We took a path part of the way around the cliffs.

To the Professor! Birthdays

In tribute to Professor Tolkien's birthday, here are some pics from Greenbelt Lake in early October: a road going ever on and on, trees as he so honored, and a Canada goose on the lake at sunset, like to an Elven swan boat crossing the sundering seas.

And a happy belated birthday wish to browngirl, who I know wouldn't mind sharing these pics with the Professor. *hugs*

Snowy Day 1

We didn't get enough snow on Friday to close things, but since it was largely a crap and crazy-making week for me and my throat was feeling a little scratchy, I took off Friday from work to have a do-over weekend and de-stress. Saki does have hyperthyroidism, but it's mild and we've caught it at the start, so we don't have to rush the treatments, but start her on pills this week and see how she does with that.

I'm already feeling lucky I had a day saved up to take off, and more relaxed, so it was a good plan. The sun came out at rising on Friday for a little while and made the little bit of snow we got glisten. So here are some pics of the pretty out my apartment windows:
