I wish I could remember the name of the nincompoop who wrote a scientific (ha!) article that appeared in a magazine last year saying cats (and virtually every other animal) apparent affection for their humans was a food-getting strategy, a learned behavior, nothing to do with the desire for interaction, bonding, or affection. Saki demonstrates the rebuttal. Take that, nincompoop writer-scientist.
